Bus Safety

Your child's safety is our first prioirity.

• Buses (vehicles) used to transport children to DoD schools in Europe are not the traditional yellow vehicles familiar to most Americans.
• Depending on seating capacity requirements, vehicles used in Europe are typically European Style coaches - those most often used for tourist travel.

You should note:

• As in most communities in Europe, school bus transportation is provided by contracts with local host nation civilian commercial bus companies.
• Traffic laws are different in Europe than in the United States.
• Traffic in Europe does not stop for buses.
• You should teach your child to stay out of the "Danger Zone."
• Extra caution must be taken to ensure your child’s safety.
